Ossian State Bank Supports Fireman’s Breakfast Each year, the citizens in and around the town of Ossian look forward to the Annual Pancake & Sausage Breakfast, held at the Fire Station. And each year, Ossian State Bank makes a sizeable contribution to this worthwhile event. We are a community bank that believes in giving back to the community. We appreciate the job that our volunteer fire department does not only in fire and rescue calls, but also in teaching our youth about fire safety and their participation and dedication to Ossian Days. David Morrison, President & CEO presented a check to Ed Connett, Fire Chief, of the Ossian Volunteer Fire Department. New Packaging on Check Orders If you have recently placed a check re-order, you will notice the packaging has changed dramatically from the past. The new packaging is a flatter, more streamlined envelope that complies with the new postal regulations for automated processing. The envelopes are blue in color and still provide the same quality and security that you have come to expect from our supplier, Deluxe Corporation. Jeans Day Helps Local Families One Friday per month, the staff at OSB is allowed to wear jeans to work for a $3.00 donation. From the proceeds, we were able to contribute $300 to the Alison Frederick Cancer Treatment Fund, $250 to the Kane Krinn Memorial Fund, and $50 to the Haley Chaney Fund. Brewer Returns to Ossian State Bank! Jim Brewer has rejoined the OSB Team. His specialties include Commercial Lending, Equipment Loans, Line of Credit, and Commercial Mortgages. BEWARE OF FAKE CHECK SCAMS If someone you don’t know sends you a check but wants you to wire some of the money back, beware! It’s a scam. There is no legitimate reason for someone who is giving you money to ask you to wire money back – that’s clearly a sign that it is a scam. If you think someone is trying to pull a fake check scam, don’t deposit it – report it! Contact the National Consumers League’s Fraud Center, www.fraud.org., or local authorities.
